The Board of Finance consists of six members, elected to two year terms. The Board holds meetings on the second Monday and fourth Thursday of each month, at 7:30 pm in the Council Chamber at the Municipal Cener. The public is welcome to attend.
During the Annual Budget process, the Board of Finance conducts a public hearing, not later than the first Wednesday in March, on the budgets proposed by the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Education. The public is encouraged to attend and give comments on the proposed budgets. The Board then holds working sessions to revise and/or approve the proposed budgets. Not later than March 14th, the Board must submit to the Legislative Council its recommended budget for the next fiscal year.
