The following fees will be collected:
VITAL RECORD COPIES: CGS Sec. 7-74
Birth - short form: $ 5.00 (no increase)
Birth - long form: $10.00 (from $5.00)
Marriage - $10.00 (from $5.00)
Civil Union - $10.00 (from $5.00)
Death - $10.00 (from $5.00)
CERTIFIED COPIES: CGS Sec.7-34a
$2.00 (from $1.00)
SPORT LICENSES: CGS 26-29, 26-29a, 26-29b
Licenses issued to any blind, mentally disabled or
physically disabled person shall be a LIFETIME license.
To obtain a Marriage License in Connecticut both the Bride & Groom must appear in person within 65 days of the Wedding date at the Town Clerk’s office in the Connecticut town where one of the parties reside or in the Connecticut town where the marriage will take place.
You will need to present your driver’s license or a photo ID. When you come to the office, know where your parents were born, Mother's maiden name, your place of birth, the date and location of your wedding and the name of the person performing the service.
Our office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Our office is located in the Edmond Town Hall @ 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.
If you come in the morning we can have the License ready for you to pick up in the afternoon, if you come in the afternoon we can have it ready the next morning.
The fee is $30.00 in cash or check.
