Office of the Financial Director
Immediate full-time opening for the Director of Finance/Town Treasurer. In accordance with the Town Charter and Connecticut Statutes, this position maintains custody of all Town funds. Establishes necessary accounting procedures and controls to assure reporting of all programs and coordinates the preparation of the Town Budget. Together with the First Selectman, constitutes the Town Purchasing authority.
Minimum Qualifications: Intimate knowledge of finance, investment, purchasing, municipal budgeting and fund accounting. Broad knowledge of Connecticut Statutes, generally accepted accounting principles, labor and union contractual procedures and related business matters.
Experience and Training: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. Minimum of ten years executive, managerial or supervisory experience of which five years shall be in municipal operations.
At least one year of graduate work, an M.B.A. or C.P.A. shall be considered the equivalent of three years general experience.
Salary: $100,000 - $125,000
