The Detective Division is overseen by the Operations Bureau and is responsible for the investigation of all crimes of a serious nature, except those cases specifically assigned to other NDPS units or law enforcement agencies and handles the recovery of stolen property, also providing for the continuance of criminal investigations initiated by other units and provides assistance to other units in performing their preliminary investigations.
The Detective Division actively handles Missing Persons cases as well as the department's Cold Case files.
