Lost & Found Pets

Any missing dog or cat should be reported to the Newtown Animal Control office at (203) 426-6900. We will log all relevant information. Please remember to contact us if your pet returns home; otherwise, we will keep the information for seven (7) consecutive days.

If your pet becomes lost, you should also:

  • Notify area Veterinarians and area town Animal Control Departments
  • Place an Ad in the local paper or post flyers

For cat owners: If your cat uses a litter box, DO NOT clean it but instead put it outside in a visible area of your yard. Chances are your cat will return home. Do not place food or water outside as this will attract all kinds of animals.

If you find a pet that doesn't belong to you, you should immediately contact the Newtown Animal Control at (203) 426-6900.
