Regarding electric bill pay

CT Gen Statutes require that tax payments must be received or postmarked by Aug 1 (Motor Vehicle, and first installment Real Estate or Personal Property) or Feb 1 (Supplemental Motor Vehicle and 2nd installment Real Estate or Personal Property) in order to be considered timely. Please bear in mind that electronic bill pay services may not mail your check when you request, and they are not mailed with valid US Postmarks. For that reason, we do not recommend paying taxes with this method of payment. If you still choose to pay with this method, please take whatever steps are needed to ensure that your payment arrives in our office before the delinquency date (Aug 1 or Feb 1)

Any questions please call the Tax Collector’s Office at 203-270-4320, Mon-Fri (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.).
