ONLINE Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Requests

NEWS RELEASE
Town Clerk Debbie Aurelia Halstead advises Newtown voters that
absentee ballots are available Tuesday, August 22, 2017
for the Republican Municipal Primary to be held in Newtown on September 12, 2017. 
Any qualified registered Republican voter may vote by absentee if unable to vote in person.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Special hours for absentee voting will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017
from 9am to 12pm at the Newtown Municipal Center.

ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUESTS

An absentee ballot may be applied for by any qualified registered voter unable to vote due to the following reasons:

  • Illness or physical disability
  • Absence from town during all election hours
  • Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
  • Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
  • Active service in the Armed Forces
