Taps Along the Housatonic 2021 video

American Legion Post 202 of Newtown CT

Greetings Fellow Veterans and Friends –

I am pleased to let you know that Bill Cafarelli has completed this year’s “Taps Along the Housatonic” video. The “good news” is that the reason that he took so long is that business is beginning to pick up again and he had less free time. This took a lot of Bill’s personal time to edit and assemble. I want to thank Bill and everyone who participated in this project for all that they did to honor and respect our fallen and deceased veterans this Memorial Day.

Bill did a beautiful job! Please watch it on YouTube. Here’s the 2021 link:  Https://youtu.be/4Fvtdk7rYn4  You can also view last year’s video which was much smaller due to COVID restrictions. You can view 2020 Taps Along the Housatonic via this link  https://youtu.be/GkoZeqdLkK8  Enjoy the program at your leisure.

If you would like to let Bill know you like his work, please reach out to him at  William@VideoArtWorks.com If you would recommend his skills to others, I am sure that he would appreciate new business.

If you enjoyed this program, please help us to do more throughout the year. Perhaps you can contribute in some small way with other events and activities. Your time, talent and/or treasure will make sure we can continue. You do not need to be a professional to participate. There are many things that people can help with. Donations, regardless how small, are also appreciated. Together we can do much!

The American Legion welcomes all veterans who served honorably. We look forward to bringing in new veterans, especially those who want to participate. More than 15% of our membership are women! We meet the first Wednesday of every month, at 7pm, at the Newtown Community Center on the Fairfield Hills Campus.

In addition, the American Legion Family welcomes into the Auxiliary, husbands, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, mothers, grandmothers of veterans, living or deceased. The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) also welcomes male descendants of veterans, living or deceased. Both the Auxiliary and SAL work side-by-side with Post 202 with our efforts!

Joining the American Legion family also gives people the opportunity to make new friends and join in new activities. We work hard at Post 202 to support our fellow veterans, their families, our schools, and our community at large. We also work with other town organizations that support like efforts. Please consider joining us or being one of our “friends or supporters”.

In as much as the Labor Day Parade has been cancelled this year, the next major event will be Saturday, September 25th, 9am – noon. It is the Kid’s Fishing Derby at Great Hollow Lake in Monroe. Admission is FREE ! You do not need to be a veteran to participate!  Prizes will be awarded in 3 categories: 5 years old and under6 – 10 years old11 – 15 years oldFirst, second and third place trophies will be awarded in each category PLUS Largest Fish!
