Who Can Vote in the Budget Referendum

You may vote in the budget referendum if you are:
A registered Newtown voter –yes go to the regular check in lines.
A registered Newtown voter but not in a party – yes go to the regular check in lines.

If you are NOT a registered Newtown voter but own property in town.
You can vote if you meet these 5 criteria:
1. You are at least 18 years old.
2. You are a United States Citizen.
3. Your name is on the Grand List set on October 1st of the previous year.
4. The property has a value of at least $1000.
5. You are eligible to be registered to vote (this has to do with felony laws)

 

 

The easiest way to vote is be registered.  This is done through DMV, online, through the mail or in person.
