Newtown Celebrates America's 250
In 2026, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. This historic milestone known as the Semiquincentennial, offers communities across the country an opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate our democracy, and look ahead toward the future.
The Town of Newtown is proud to join the State of Connecticut and the national America250 initiative in recognizing this once-in-a-generation anniversary through a series of community events, educational programs, historical commemorations, and civic celebrations.
