Marriage License Information

Prior to appointment you must fill out this worksheet and email to: town.clerk@newtown-ct.gov
*Marriage licenses are by appointment only. 
Marriage licenses are issued Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Marriage licenses are valid for 65 days.

In order to obtain your marriage license in Newtown, you must be having the ceremony in Newtown. 

The cost for the marriage license is $50.00 Cash or Check and $20.00 for each certified copy of the          license to be obtained post ceremony.

You must both appear in person.

Please bring your drivers license / passport for identification.

You must supply the name, address, and telephone number of the official performing the ceremony.
